TMSS Classes
Courses 1 and 2 are offered in Akureyri this summer
in the hall at Akureyri Yoga at Súluvegi 2,
and live on the internet in icelandic.
The classes are twice a week for four weeks each,
on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 -11:10.
The classes are taught in a hall with students and are also broadcast live on the site, which you can buy access to.
All participants of the course have access to videos from the class to practice when it suits them and for an additional three months after the course ends.
(NOTE: The students are not visible in the video, only the teacher).
The class setting:
5-10 minutes grounding and breathing
10 minutes soft warm-up and stretching
10-15 minutes of body part exercises
10-15 minutes stretching and rolling
20 minutes of relaxation
Relaxation and meditation help you unite your mind and body, and believe me - the results are awesome!

The beginning is important
Each class begins with the practitioners connecting to the environment, focusing their attention inward and letting go of what is outside. The practitioner chooses to be either sitting, lying down or standing.
The question is: what does your body want today?
Coordination of breathing - movement
You learn to connect breathing with the movements, i.e. "harmonizing breathing and movement". which simplifies practice and relieves muscle stiffness and tension sooner. The practitioner becomes more aware in time which muscles are being worked on at any given time.
Yoga equipment always at hand
Equipment in traditional yoga is mostly a yoga mat and blocks, but in TMSS YOGA all props are used, to form blocks, strap, massage roller, ball, yoga cushion, blanket, pillow and chair. These props are designed to assist the body so that the practitioner can adapt the positions as best as possible.
Assistance in class and online
It is important that the teacher helps the practitioners in class, and therefore many versions of the exercises are taught so that everyone can find a way that suits them during the class. It is important that everyone develops a sense of their own limits, in order to achieve the best results in practice.
